Hey!
My name is Humza (Humm Zah, not Huzma, Azmah or Hoomza lol). I'm a product designer, filmmaker, director, music producer, storyteller, a creative in every sense of the word, and an aspiring creative director. Born and raised in New Zealand, proudly repping my Muslim & Pakistani background.
Creating has always been second nature to me. Whether it was comic books, clothes, music, apps, films or photography, I’ve always had this need to make. I’m not just here to tell stories, I want to tell my story. I wear my culture and my faith on my sleeve, and I take pride in both. My dream is to build spaces, systems, and communities where people like me feel seen, safe, and proud of their identity.
I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to detail, but that’s because I care. I’ve consumed enough. Now it’s about creating something real, something that lasts beyond me.
My Islamic Identity
Being Muslim is a big part of who I am, not just in belief but in how I think, create, and express myself. Growing up as a Kiwi-born Pakistani, I’ve always moved between cultures, balancing faith, tradition, and creativity. That mix has shaped everything I do.
People often describe me as calm or chill, and I think a lot of that comes from Islamic teachings, especially the idea that everything in this world is temporary. It helps me stay grounded during intense moments and reminds me to trust the process, even when things feel uncertain.
My faith doesn’t sit in a separate box, it quietly informs the way I work, how I collaborate, and what I choose to put into the world. It’s something I carry with me in everything I do.
Movies & Storytelling
Over the last few years, I’ve found myself falling deeper into the world of movies. There’s something powerful about storytelling, especially when it’s done subtly, where the emotion sits between the lines and the visuals say more than the dialogue.
I’ve directed two small-scale short films, written a full feature-length script, and drafted over six short film scripts.
Filmmaking has become another creative language for me, where I can explore identity, emotion, and perspective in a way that feels raw and honest.
Just like in music and design, I’m drawn to the unspoken moments, the ones that leave space for interpretation and feeling. Storytelling, to me, is less about explanation and more about creating an experience that sticks with you.

Music
Music has always been one of my favourite and most passionate creative mediums. I’ve loved the way ideas and emotions can be communicated through instrumentals alone, no lyrics, just feeling. From modern artists like Frank Ocean to classic qawwali legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, I’ve always been drawn to the emotional storytelling that music can offer.
Since 2016, I’ve been producing hip hop and R&B instrumentals using FL Studio and even built a YouTube channel that grew to nearly 5,000 subscribers. While I’ve stepped away from music production in recent years to focus on other creative pursuits, it remains a part of me that I’ll always love, a foundation that continues to shape how I approach creativity today.
